Mueang Chiang Rai is a city in Amphoe Mueang Chiang Rai, Chiang Rai, in Thailand, a big city in the north of Thailand.
Established as the capital during the reign of King Mngeraa, in the year 1262 AD, where the King Mngeraa established in 1262 and the city became the capital of the dynasty Mngeraa.
Later, Chiang Rai has been invaded by Burma and remained under Burmese rule for several hundred years.
It was not until 1786 that became a follower Chiang Rai Chiang Mai.
